I’d Rather Hear a “No” than “Yea dude” by Josh

Right now I’m currently 14 and I’m so glad that my parents don’t try to be “cool”, because when they try to be cool sometimes you don’t hear the words “stop” or “no” enough. Most of the time you’re parent or guardian is right when they say for you to stop or no you can’t get that.

When a parent tries to be cool it’s like a kid trying to be an adult, it’s funny at first but then it gets out of hand and it has bad effects for both sides. For example in the article the guardian or parent tries to be cool by talking about some teacher, but in reality it just screams “it’s ok to talk trash about people if they aren’t present”. When parents try to be cool it also impacts kids because they can get whatever they want, and you can relate this to The Outsiders where Bob never heard the word “no” so he grew up getting everything and then it came to a point where he need to be told to stop.
